Rev. Dr. Charles J. King Jr. for Bishop "2010"

Dear Delegates and Alternates:
As clergy and lay representatives to the 2010 General Conference, I would like to state that the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church has a cherished legacy in the areas of spiritual formation, education, race relations, ecumenism, social outreach and many other areas. However, in spite of all our accomplishments, we can be a greater institution of faith. As you are painfully aware, our membership is declining and assessments can no longer sustain all of our growing needs.
As a lifelong pastor and the Presiding Elder of the Cincinnati, Dayton and Indianapolis District with 44 churches in the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church. I want you to know that we can no longer continue to do business as usual. We must must find new ways to: Finance and Implement ministries
- Generate Revenue
- Train and Equip Clergy and Laity
- Grow and Expand Churches
- Reach Our Communities
- Recruit and Retain Our Youth and Young Adults
- Minister to Our Congregations.
My VISION for the church is grounded in the scripture that says where there is no vision the people perish. I believe that we need to have the following vision:
- Reach more of the lost by opening the doors of the Sunday School and Faith-Based Ministries.
- Minister to all ages and meet each individual's need.
- Develop new leaders, make disciples and train curret ministers, officers and members.
- Building a strong family ministry
- Connect people and create deeper relationships within the church and community.
My RECORD in the church and community accomplishments are as follows:
- Pastored successfully in Georgia, Washington, DC, Kentucky, Indiana and Ohio.
- 1.2 Million Dollar Restoration of Brown Memorial CME Church in Louisville, Kentucky.
- Founder and CEO of Project One, Inc. serving over 8,000 students and raising over 12 Million Dollars.
- Established and maintained corporate funding relationships with Toyota, Fifth Third Bank, UPS, U.S. Department of Labor, Education, Health and Human Services and the White House.
- 2005-06 National Banquet Speaker, Future Farmers of America.
This is my concern, vision and record as a product of the CME Church. I firmly believe that some of us may plant and others of us may water, ultimately it is God who brings the growth.
I am Charles J. King, Jr. and I am again available as a candidate for Bishop and I am asking for your VOTE and SUPPORT at the General Conference. You have a choice, an Option and Alternative. May God bless you, your family and ministry. Pray. Pray. Pray. |
